
Paula Banks is a professional geriatric care manager, author, speaker and one of New England's leading experts on eldercare with over 30 years of clinical experience working with seniors and caregivers.
She has worked with hundreds of families around the country to help them navigate the complex world of geriatric care, make educated choices and maximize their quality of life. Her areas of expertise include eldercare, post-acute care planning, probate court/expert witness in guardianship cases, and mental health advocacy.
Paula's advice and opinions have appeared in local media outlets such as the The Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram, WGME-CBS 13, WMTW-Channel 8, WGAN Newsradio 560-AM and Maine Magazine. Paula has also authored two books: 'Caring for Our Elders' and 'The Eldercare Revolution ' program.
In her charitable work, Paula champions Senior-to-Senior, a program that matches seniors in high school with seniors out in the community to foster intergenerational relationships. Additionally, Paula is the former chair of Maine Medical Center’s Choices for End of Life Care Committee as well as the former Chair of the Board of Trustees for 75 State Street, a Portland, ME independent and assisted living community for seniors.
Paula is a licensed social worker, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston and is an MSW candidate at Aurora (Ill.) University.
